Work Experience:

 

University of New England, Wildlife Research Assistant (Fall Semester 2017)

Assisted a University of New England professor on a research project on the impacts of wildlife before, during, and after construction on a portion of the Eastern Trail in Maine. Tasks included reviewing video footage from wildlife cameras, appropriately titling footage with species names, and choosing relevant photos and video footage for public education on the Facebook page.

 

New Hampshire SPCA, Veterinary Technician(Summer 2017, Summer 2018)

Working as a surgical technician to assist in surgery, making surgical packs, post-op monitoring, and patient care. Other daily duties required in a veterinary hospital such as administering medications, basic patient care, cleaning, and assisting the veterinarian with routine procedures, are also performed.

 

Ocean Valley Veterinary Hospital, Veterinary Technician(November 2015-March 2016)

Worked as a surgical technician. Performed other daily tasks such as blood draws, vaccinations, patient intake, assisting with x-rays, basic reception work, etc.

 

Volunteer Experience:

 New England Primate Conservancy, Primate Species Profile Writer(May 2018-Present)

Writing articles on various primate species to bring education on conservation efforts to the public.

 

Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium, Zookeeping Intern (Summer 2016)

Worked closely with zoo staff assisting with feedings, cleaning, small medical procedures, and other daily tasks to maintain a high standard of care for a wide variety of exotic species.

 

Amesbury Animal Hospital, Intern (January-April 2015)

Worked under the supervision of a Certified Veterinary Technician, specifically focusing on tasks related to surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures of household pets. Provided assistance with other routine hospital tasks such as, administering medications, cleaning of kennels, monitoring treatments, and caring for animals post-operatively.

Health and Wellness Animal Hospital, Intern (May-July 2014)

Observed and assisted the veterinarians and veterinary technicians with procedures and tasks for animals being treated at the hospital as well as animals seen for daily appointments. Helped to maintain a clean and safe facility for the staff and animals, as well as provided basic client education.

Public Relations Representative of the Sexual Health Advocacy Group (SHAG) (2017-Present)

Responsibilities include promoting University club events through designing fliers, maintaining the various social media pages, assisting with campus outreach, as well as being an active member of the club to promote a safe, positive atmosphere that focuses on the many aspects of intimate health, on the University of New England college campus.

 

Student Speaker at the University of New England Digispace Event (May 10th, 2018)

Wrote and gave a speech for University of New England faculty and staff on the importance of digital learning and how technology benefits students and teachers in furthering education both within the classroom and in professional contexts.

 

President of the Veterinary Technology Club (2014-2015)

Organized and ran club meetings, planned out fundraising events, attended leadership meetings and retreats, and worked with the other club officers to create a fun extracurricular club that was educational for the other members.
